5 Best Mushroom Coffees: Ranked Best to Worst

I love coffee. Real coffee.

But over the last couple of years, I started noticing the downside more and more. The jitters. The afternoon crash. That weird anxious feeling when I drank it on an empty stomach. And if I'm being honest, my gut did not love it either.

So I started looking for a healthier option that could still feel like coffee.

That's what led me down the mushroom coffee rabbit hole.

At first, I thought the whole thing sounded a little ridiculous. I assumed it would taste earthy, watery, or just plain bad. But after seeing these brands everywhere, I decided to actually test them myself instead of guessing.

So I tried 5 of the most talked-about mushroom coffees and compared them side by side. I specifically paid attention to taste, how I felt after drinking them, energy effects, and whether they felt worth the money.

THE FINAL VERDICT

Neubrain by a landslide!

It had the best taste by FAR, felt the most complete from an ingredient standpoint, mixed the cleanest, and gave me the smoothest energy and focus overall. Most importantly, it was the only one that still felt like a real coffee experience instead of a compromise.

If you want a mushroom coffee that actually tastes like coffee, has a stronger formula than mushrooms alone, and doesn't leave you with grit or sludge in the bottom of your mug, Neubrain is the one I'd pick.

Thank you for this! Of the ones I’ve tried, I completely agree on Ryze, Everyday Dose, and Mud/Wtr. Ryze left a ton of sludge in the bottom of my mug. Everyday Dose was smoother, but still didn’t really taste like coffee to me.

Neubrain has been my favorite so far because it actually tastes like coffee and I can feel the focus difference without that weird crash later.

I’ve tried Four Sigmatic and Ryze before, but neither one really stuck for me. Four Sigmatic was decent, but I still felt like I was drinking a “healthy coffee” instead of actual coffee.

Neubrain was the first one that felt like something I’d actually want every morning.

The biggest thing for me was residue. I didn’t realize how much that bothered me until I compared a few side by side. Neubrain mixed the cleanest and tasted the most normal to me.
